These variations are not flaws, but a testament to authenticity.
Tisane vs Tea: A tisane refers to a herbal infusion made from flowers, leaves, roots, seeds, or fruits, and is naturally caffeine-free. Tea, in the traditional sense, refers specifically to preparations made from the leaves of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. This includes white, green, oolong, black teas and everything in between, all of which naturally contain caffeine in varying amounts.

An elegant French grey organic tea with orange pekoe black tea leaf perfumed with bergamot essential oil* and a flourish of rose, lavender, jasmine & orange.
Organic ingredients: Orange pekoe black tea leaf, Lavender flower, Rose petal, Orange fruit, Jasmine bud & Bergamot essential oil. Naturally contains caffeine. For the specific health benefits of each ingredient refer to A-Z Botanical Ingredients go here
Steep: 1 teaspoon per cup of freshly boiled water for 3-5 minutes and allow the tea leaves to unfurl, mature & flourish. Enjoy with milk and sweetness or as is.
*The Difference between Essential Oil & Fragrance: We use only pure bergamot essential oil in our Earl Grey, never synthetic fragrance, ensuring a tea that is both authentic in flavour and aligned with a more natural, whole-plant philosophy. Essential oil of bergamot is a natural extract, cold-pressed from the peel of the bergamot citrus fruit. It carries the true aromatic compounds of the plant, offering not only its distinctive bright, floral citrus note but also its subtle therapeutic qualities. Fragrance (or flavouring), on the other hand, is typically a synthetic or highly processed compound designed to mimic aroma.

Genmaicha is a blend of Sencha green tea and roasted brown rice, traditionally enjoyed as an everyday tea in Japan. It has a comforting, savoury character with nutty, popcorn-like notes balanced by the freshness of green tea. Its origins trace back to Japan’s Edo period, between the 17th and 19th centuries. During times of economic hardship, rice was precious and green tea could be expensive. Adding roasted rice extended the tea supply, making it more accessible to households of modest means. But beyond its delicious popcorn flavour, Genmaicha reflects something deeper. It is a tea of reverence. Reverence for resources. Reverence for simplicity. Reverence for making enough, be enough.
Ingredients: Sencha green tea leaf (naturally contains caffeine) and roasted brown rice.
Dose: Steep 1 teaspoon per cup of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Enjoy as is.
Aroma: Toasty, savoury green
Therapy: Genmaicha provides the antioxidant benefits of green tea, including catechins that support cellular protection and metabolic health, while the roasted brown rice offers a grounding, gentle quality that can soothe digestion. Its lower perceived bitterness and moderate caffeine content also make it a calming, supportive tea for daily use.

Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea grown in Australia, traditionally made by slowly roasting bancha or sencha leaves over high heat. The roasting process transforms the leaf, creating a warm, toasty aroma. Unlike fresh green teas, Hojicha is smooth, low in bitterness, and naturally lower in caffeine due to the roasting. Hojicha was first created in Kyoto in the early 20th century, when tea merchants began roasting leftover green tea leaves and stems to prevent waste. What began as resourcefulness became beloved tradition. The roasting reduced astringency and caffeine, making it suitable for children, elders, and evening drinking.
Ingredients: Roasted Japanese green tea leaf (naturally contains lower caffeine due to roasting).
Dose: Steep 1 teaspoon per cup of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Enjoy as is.
Aroma: Notes of caramel, wood, and gentle smoke
Therapy: Hojicha retains the antioxidant polyphenols of green tea in a gentler form, while its roasted nature makes it soothing to digestion and calming to the nervous system. Its naturally lower caffeine content makes it ideal for the afternoon or evening.

Red rooibos is a remarkable South African botanical, native to the rugged Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape, where it grows in sandy, mineral-rich soils beneath the warmth of the African sun. Unlike conventional tea, rooibos comes from a shrub rather than the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Its fine, needle-like leaves and stems are carefully harvested, cut and bruised before undergoing a natural oxidation process that transforms their green colour into the distinctive copper-red hue for which rooibos is loved. The leaves are then dried in the sun, developing their naturally sweet, earthy aroma and beautifully rounded flavour. Organically grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, red rooibos reflects the unique landscape from which it comes. Naturally caffeine-free and rich in plant polyphenols, it has long been enjoyed in South Africa as an everyday herbal infusion, traditionally used to soothe digestion and provide comfort. There is something wonderfully grounding about rooibos, with its warm, mellow character and gentle sweetness. A nourishing tisane to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening, inviting a moment of warmth, simplicity and restoration.
